this is an old igloo cooler that works with a solid state heating/cooling chip. After digging it out of the shed and doing a disassemble, I found the faulty plug connection. Added an external 12v computer fan to increase the air flow, and while it works fine running on solar panels, it is NOT a real refrigerator. Yes it can keep your food 20 degrees or so elbow ambient, but unless you can reduce ambient it's not a long term food preserver. Although it will keep your beer fairly cool, this is not an 'essential ' to my big-out kit. Will be interested to see if it will keep ice from melting more quickly than without the peltier assist
